When should I book my senior pictures?

Book as early as you can, because fall dates fill the fastest. Senior sessions can happen any time during your senior year, but if you have a specific season, location, or look in mind, getting on my calendar early gives us the most options. Busy athlete? I also offer weekend appointments to work around practice and game schedules.

How do I know which senior session is right for me?

Choose based on how much time and variety you want. My Senior Experiences start at $600 and range from a simple studio session to several locations, outfits, and completely different looks featuring your sports, hobbies, or vehicle. Not sure which fits your vision? Just ask. I've been photographing seniors across southern Illinois and southern Indiana since 2020, and I'm happy to help you decide.

Locations & Travel

Where do senior sessions take place?

Senior sessions take place in my Albion studio, outdoors, and on location, wherever best fits your story. I photograph seniors from Edwards County, Richland County, Mt. Carmel, and North Posey High Schools, and throughout southern Illinois and southern Indiana. Together we'll choose settings that match your personality, outfits, and interests. Have a place that's meaningful to you? Tell me. I'm always open to new ideas.

Can we travel outside Edwards County for my senior pictures?

Absolutely. I'm happy to travel for your senior pictures. My multi-location Senior Experiences include locations within Edwards County, and sessions beyond the county are always welcome, though additional travel fees may apply depending on the destination. Whether it's a favorite spot across southern Illinois or somewhere in southern Indiana, if you have a location in mind, let's talk about it.

Planning Your Session

What should I wear for my senior pictures?

Wear something that feels like YOU. We'll plan your outfits together around your locations, personal style, and the variety you want in your final gallery, including colors, layers, accessories, and dressy versus casual looks. My work has been published in Senior Style Guide, and I love helping seniors create looks that photograph beautifully. You don't have to figure it all out on your own.

How many outfits can I bring?

There's no outfit limit, because my sessions are based on time, not outfits. A good rule of thumb is about 15 minutes per outfit, so a longer Senior Experience gives you room for more changes and completely different looks. Rather than squeezing in as many outfits as possible, we'll create enough variety to tell your story without your session ever feeling rushed.

I'm awkward in front of the camera. Will you tell me what to do?

YES. You don't need to know how to pose. That's my job. I'll guide you through the entire session, from what to do with your hands to where to look and how to stand, so you're never left wondering, "What am I supposed to do now?" My goal is for you to feel comfortable, confident, and completely like yourself.

Can I include sports, hobbies, instruments, animals, or my vehicle?

Please do! Any and all props are welcome. Your senior portraits should tell YOUR story, whether that's the sport you've played for years, the livestock you show, your instrument, your truck, hunting, dance, or art. I especially love including pets on location. Whatever you want to remember from this special time in your life, let's find a way to include it.

Can we take some family pictures during my senior session?

Yes. Family portraits are included with my top Senior Experience, taken at the beginning or end of your session. Senior year is a milestone for the whole family, and it's a wonderful opportunity to capture an updated family portrait while everyone is together. If family photos matter to you, let's make sure you choose the experience that includes them.

Weather, Editing & Delivery

What happens if it rains on the day of my session?

If rain moves in, we can move into my studio or reschedule, whichever is best for your session. Southern Illinois weather doesn't always cooperate with our plans, so we'll decide together based on the conditions and what we planned to create. I don't want you stressing over the forecast days in advance. We'll handle it together.

Do you retouch my senior pictures?

Yes. Every final image is professionally edited, and retouching is tailored to what you want. I remove temporary blemishes as part of my editing, while permanent features are only changed at your request. Your senior portraits should celebrate who you are right now: polished and confident, but still completely YOU.

Do I receive digital images with my session?

Digital images are included with some Senior Experiences, while others include product credit toward the photographs and products you love most. Because each experience is structured differently, check the details of the one you're considering so you'll know exactly what's included. Your finished gallery is typically ready within 2–4 weeks of your session.

Do you offer prints, albums, and wall art?

Yes. Depending on your Senior Experience, you can choose from professionally created prints, albums, and wall art. Your senior portraits don't have to spend the rest of their lives sitting on a phone. These photographs mark an important chapter of your life, and they deserve to be displayed and enjoyed in your home long after senior year is over.

8th Grade & Sportraits

Do you photograph 8th graders too?

Absolutely! My 8th Grade Experience captures who your child is before high school begins, because sports, interests, and friendships change so quickly between eighth grade and senior year. I photograph 8th graders from Albion Grade School, West Salem Grade School, and communities across southern Illinois and southern Indiana. It's a milestone that often gets overlooked, and it deserves to be remembered.

What are Sportraits?

Sportraits are athlete portraits that go beyond the traditional team picture to showcase your sport, personality, confidence, and intensity. Whether it's football, basketball, volleyball, softball, golf, cheer, archery, or something completely different, we'll create images that feel like YOU, not just another picture in a uniform. I'm honored to have received a SYNC Award of Excellence every year from 2023 to 2026.
