What a Senior Session Really Looks Like (Behind the Scenes)

Most people see the final images.

What they don’t see is everything that happens in between, and honestly, that’s where the experience really comes to life.

Over the past few seasons, I’ve been capturing a mix of locations, personalities, and styles… and no two have looked the same. That’s the point.

Because a senior session shouldn’t feel stiff or overly posed. It should feel natural, relaxed, and actually fun.

It Starts Simple

I don’t jump in expecting you to know what to do.

I guide you through everything—where to stand, what to do with your hands, how to move so it doesn’t feel awkward. Most seniors show up a little unsure at first… and within the first 10 minutes, that completely changes.

That’s when the real moments start to happen.

Between the “Perfect Shots”

Some of the best images come from the in-between moments.

The laugh after a pose.The quick reset walking to the next spot.The “wait...do that again” moments you didn’t even realize were happening.

That’s why I keep sessions moving. Different locations, different lighting, different energy: so nothing ever feels repetitive.

It’s Not Just About Photos

Yes, we’re creating images you’ll love.

But just as important- this is an experience your senior will actually remember, forever!

The confidence shift is real. By the end of the session, they’re more relaxed, more comfortable, and honestly… having a pretty great time.

Every Session Looks Different On Purpose

Some sessions are downtown with bold architecture.Some are out in open fields with soft light. Some start in the studio and end at sunset.

There’s no “one way” to do this.

That’s why we plan ahead, choose locations intentionally, and build a session that fits your senior.
